What version of the Bible comes with BibleCourier?

BibleCourier may contain either the King James, the American Standard, or the World English version of the Bible. You specify your preference when you order the unit. Some dealers may offer additional versions of the Bible.

Can I save my place in the Bible?

Yes. BibleCourier automatically saves your place when you stop play. When you restart play, BibleCourier begins reading where you left off. You can also set bookmarks within each book of the Bible and then jump to them when you like.

Can I fast forward the text?

Yes. BibleCourier lets you jump through the Bible by verse, chapter, and book.

Can I set bookmarks?

Absolutely. You can set an almost unlimited number of bookmarks in each book.

Does BibleCourier have Help?

Yes. BibleCourier is delivered with a Talking User Guide and Talking Help. The Talking User Guide is the first "book" loaded in BibleCourier, just before Genesis. Each key on the keypad has Talking Help which tells you what the key does. To activate the Talking Help you simply press and hold down a key until it beeps two times.

How is BibleCourier powered?

BibleCourier uses two AA batteries. With a single set of batteries you can listen to the Bible for up to 40 hours.

Can I plug BibleCourier into a wall outlet?

No. BibleCourier uses batteries as its only power source.

Does BibleCourier have a speaker?

No. BibleCourier is shipped with a set of earphones you must use to hear the Bible. You can also use any external speaker you might use with a portable CD player or a cassette tape player.

BibleCourier is about the size of a cassette tape. The dimensions are 4" x 2" x .75".

No. BibleCourier weighs four ounces with the batteries loaded.

BibleCourier uses DoubleTalk, a state-of-the-art speech synthesizer from RC Systems.

All text-to-speech synthesizers make mistakes. How does BibleCourier handle this?

Like most screen readers that you hook up to your PC, BibleCourier offers a word spell feature. If you run across a word you can't understand, you simply stop the unit, back up to the word you don't understand, and press a key to spell the word.

Is the BibleCourier keypad similar to a telephone keypad?

Yes. Both have the same number of keys in the same orientation, with the same names.

Does BibleCourier lose its memory when you turn off the unit?

No. BibleCourier uses non-volatile memory, meaning that the data doesn't go away even if the power is off or you remove the batteries. There is no way to "erase" the memory.

Can I control the volume on BibleCourier?

Yes. BibleCourier has ten different volume settings. BibleCourier also allows you to change the reading speed, the type of voice used, the pitch of the voice, and many other settings.

What accessories do I need?

Everything you need is shipped with BibleCourier: two AA batteries (already installed), stereo earphones, and even a pocket clip.
